Join the Movement: USHBA Membership Is Now Open to Everyone
A Message from the U.S. Hemp Building Association President
There has never been a better time to be part of hemp building in America, and there has never been an easier time to join the association leading it.
As announced in our Treasurer’s message this week, the U.S. Hemp Building Association has lowered its annual membership rates across the board: $10 for students, $45 for individuals, and $250 for corporate members. This was not a small decision. It reflects a belief our Board holds strongly: the future of hemp construction depends on getting more people in the room, from the student sketching their first hempcrete wall assembly to the manufacturer scaling production for a national market.
Why Now
Everywhere we go, the momentum is undeniable. On our recent visits across Louisiana, we stood in fields with growers putting fiber hemp in the ground, walked greenhouse trials with university researchers, and toured the USDA research facilities in New Orleans where the processing science behind hemp fiber continues to advance. At industry gatherings around the country, we see hemp building materials moving from curiosity to commerce, with products stacked on pallets and ready to ship.

Universities are expanding research into hempcrete, hemp fiber insulation, and composite materials. Federal and state agencies are evaluating hemp’s role in sustainable construction and rural economic development. Builders and homeowners are asking for healthier, more resilient materials. This is what an industry looks like when it is ready to grow, and growing it is exactly what your membership supports.
What Your Membership Does
Membership in USHBA connects you to a national network of builders, architects, engineers, researchers, farmers, and manufacturers who are advancing hemp construction every day. Members receive our newsletter with industry updates and association news, access to educational content and resources at our new online home, and a seat in the community shaping standards, research partnerships, and the policies that will carry hemp building into the mainstream.
Just as importantly, your membership is a vote. It tells code officials, lenders, insurers, universities, and policymakers that this industry has a constituency, and that constituency is growing.
