Builder Spotlight: Chrissy Backman Didn't Reinvent the Wall. She Built a Better One.

Chrissy Backman, PE, took hempcrete before a Board of Appeals and built Eureka's first permitted hemp home from standard lumber, catalog hardware, and documented materials. Now she is taking the same approach to California's statewide factory housing program. Here is how she did it, what it cost, and the playbook any builder can follow.

Five American hemp-lime buildings are standing and permitted. Exactly one has a documented loan. Appendix BL was the easy part.
